Danish Technological Institute, National Environmental Research Institute, Ocean Centre Denmark and Kattegatcentret welcome you to the opening of AlgaeCentre Denmark – Denmarks first plant for research and development in algae.

11.00 a.m.: Opening of AlgaeCentre Denmark Welcome by Jan Petersen, Mayor in Norddjurs Municipality and chairman in Ocean Centre Denmark “The significance of the plant on algae research” by Kurt Nielsen, deputy director, National Environmental Research Institute ”Green energy from the blue biomass” by David Tveit, director for Department of Energy and Climate, Danish Technological Institute “What does the AlgaeCentre Denmark means for Central Denmark Region” by Vagn Skovdal Larsen, member of Regional council, Central Denmark Region Official opening by Vagn Skovdal Larsen Visit the algae research site.
12.30 p.m.: Buffet with seaweed and seafood by Thorsten Schmidt, Malling & Schmidt.
14.00 p.m.: “How can we cultivate and utilize algae in Denmark” – talks about algae for energy, food ingredients and to improve the marine environment “Cultivation of algae in Denmark” by Michael Bo Rasmussen, senior consultant and Annette Bruhn, scientist, National Environmental Research Institute “Energy potential in algae” by Jonas Dahl, chemical engineer, Danish Technological Institute “Eating seaweed” by Thorsten Schmidt, chef, Malling & Schmidt, Aarhus “Algae in the industry, nationally and internationally” by Hans Porse, partner of Intercolloids and former director of CP Kelco.
16.00 p.m.: Ending the workshop by Annette Bruhn, scientist, National Environmental Research Institute and partner in AlgaeCentre Denmark.
